Images of India 2004

India is a place to expect the unexpected and it can be difficult for travellers. It's guaranteed to challenge, inspire and confound all at once. The people and languages are diverse, the customs are distinctive, and the landscape is varied. India is an assault on all the senses, giving a unique experience that is not to be forgotten. During my 49 day adventure I experienced: Calcutta; the burning ghats of Varanasi; Taj Mahal of Agra; the Jama Masjid and Red Fort of Delhi; the pink city of Jaipur; the Meherangarh Fort of the blue city of Jodhpur; Pushkar; Lake Pichola of romantic Udaipur; Ahmedabad; the desolate salt farms of Little Rann of Kutch; the earthquake ravaged city of Bhuj,Gujarat; Junagadh; Sacred Mount Girnar; the Portuguese Fort in the city of Diu; Vanakbara; Vadodara; Jalgaon; the Buddhist caves of Ajanta; Aurangabad; the cave temples of Ellora; the slums and palaces of Mumbai
